Jessie E. Kensler

Jessie Edward Kensler, age 89 of Marion, OH, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021. He was born Sunday, February 28, 1932 in Mason County, WV, to Benjamin James Kensler and Minnie Ella (Ball) Kensler. Jessie was their last surviving child of eleven children.

Jessie formerly worked at Sunray Stove Company in Delaware, OH, as a tow motor operator.

He is survived by his son Gary (Debra) Kensler of Cedaredge, CO; daughters Sharon (Robert Persinger) Kensler and Bonnie Wood, and former son-in-law Tom Wood, all of Marion; grandchildren Heather Redden, Holly Kanter, Eric Kensler, Terri Malone, Alan Smith, Jr., David Smith, Angela Clingenpeel, Rachel Wood, Danielle Stewart and Wendi Wood; 16 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susan Kensler, wife Eulabell Kensler, former wife and the mother of his children, Opal “Marie” Meadows, granddaughter Brenda Obenour, 8 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Jessie enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was a member of Fite Memorial Baptist Church.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11 am at the Marion Cemetery.
