James Lee “Jim” Hough, Sr., age 80 of Prospect, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. On August 31, 1940, he was born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Charles Clinton and Mary Ellen (Geyer) Hough, and in 1963, he married his beloved wife Paula (Gresh).
Jim worked as a supervisor at Eaton Corporation for over 30 years, as well as at the Marion Power Shovel and Ohio Edison. He was a member of the Masons, Oliver Lodge No. 447 in Caledonia, Ohio. He was also a member of the Flywheels Car Club, and he enjoyed going to car shows with his wife. An avid Dale Earnhardt fan, he loved NASCAR, and he also enjoyed drag racing as well as golfing.
He is survived by his wife Paula Gresh Hough; his son Jim (Peggy) Hough, Jr.; his grandchildren AJ (Brittani), Kaitlin (Jason), and Hannah; and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Hough.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Services will take place on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
