Jimmie Ransom Spence, age 73, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on February 20, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born to Jimmie and Geraldine Spence in Yeager, West Virginia, in 1951, he went on to graduate high school before life took him off on adventures. He owned the Tropical Paradise pet store in Marion, Ohio. He was an avid inventor, being an engineer at heart, and had a vivid imagination. He took great joy in restoring older cars with his son, Jim Ryan, and was especially fond of his Corvette. He had an impressive work ethic, working at Union Tank as a Code Welder for over 30 years before retiring.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie and Geraldine, his brothers, Timothy, Gary, and Alan Spence, and his son, Chip Alan Rife.
He leaves behind his wife, Denise Spence, his son, Jim Ryan, his daughters, Penni (Grover) Horn, Crystal Spence, his many grandchildren and many great grandchildren, and his special friend, Nova.
