John R Bails

     John R. Bails, age 80, of Marion passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 12:46 AM in the Blue Bird Nursing Home, Marysville, Ohio. He was born in Marion, Ohio on February 23, 1943 to the late Raymond L. and Margaret Louise (Snare) Bails.  John married the former Vonda Lee Plotner in Marion on January 30, 1965 and she survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Christine Ann (Martin) Einloth of Marysville, OH. and Michelle Lynn (Billy) Day of West Point, UT., a brother, Robert Bails of San Diego, CA., three sisters, Lucille Jacobs of Green Camp, OH., Barbara (John) Shirley of Mentor, OH., and Geraldine (Gary) Wygle of Marion, OH., four grandchildren, Tim (Alicia) Einloth, Cecila (Craig) Worsham, Bobbi Marie Day, & Silas Day, and six great grandchildren.  John was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Marie Bails and two brothers, David & Alan Bails.

     John was a past member of Moose Lodge # 889.  During his working career, he was owner & operator of United Cycle Service here in Marion for many years, he worked part-time at Todco Door, and retired as an engineer & machinist at Central Machine here in Marion.

     Friends may call at the Boyd Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4th, 2023, from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM.  A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday in the Marion Cemetery (behind the Harding Memorial). Rev. Nathan McBeth will be conducting the service.
