John Welch Jr.

John Welch Jr., age 61, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 9:06 AM at his residence in Marion. He was born on January 11, 1963 in Marion, Ohio to the late John & Kay (Brooker) Welch. John  married the former Ruby Nazareno and she preceded him in death on August 2, 2023 in Missouri. John was a 1981 graduate of Pleasant High School and went on to join the U.S. Navy where he spent 30 years before his retirement in 2014.

     He is survived by a son, Joseph Welch of San Diego, CA., 4 sisters, Sandy (Don Houseworth) Oliver of Marion, OH., Peggy (Tim) Reidl of Galion, OH., Twila Utley, and Tammy Hall both of Marion, OH., and numerous nieces & nephews.

     No visiting hours will be observed. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 12th, 2024, in the Grand Prairie Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Chaplin Steven Anderson will be officiating. Donations in John’s name may be given to the Am. Cancer Society or to Tranquility Hospice.
