Joyce Sue Bailey

Joyce Sue Bailey, age 87 of Marion, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born on December 31, 1936 in Wilmore, Kentucky, to the late Harley and Alice (Mayes) Walker.

Joyce worked as an executive assistant to the medical staff at Marion General Hospital for 29 years, and after her retirement, she continued to volunteer at the front desk. She was a member of Family Life Church, and her family fondly remembers her as “techy.” She was a woman who loved her devices, and she knew how to use them well. She was also a voracious reader.

Above all else, she loved her kids and grandkids. She was so proud of each and every one.

She is survived by her children Lori (Dan) Sorth, Phil (Gina) Bailey, and Jay (Diane) Bailey; her grandchildren Robbie Bailey, Bryan (Kayla) Bailey, Carolyn (Nathan) Dimick, and Kayla Bailey; and her great-grandchildren Julian Bailey and Fynleigh Percy.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harley and Alice Walker.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 10 am at Marion Cemetery.
