Judith “Judy” Elizabeth Augenstein died at Marion General Hospital on March 27, 2025. She was born in Buffalo, NY, to Earl and Emma May (Sandbower) Silvers in December 1939. In November 1959, she met and married the love of her life, Martin Augenstein. They had many years of love and adventure before his passing in 2012.
An independent woman, Judy preferred to stay busy with crafting and flea markets when not spending time with family. For many years, she bred and traveled to show her dogs through her Aspree Kennel. She enjoyed many passions and took pride in painting, taking a fancy to various landscapes and tropical views as well as painting of her animals.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Kenny Rife, her husband, Martin Augenstein, her brother, Gary Silvers, her son, Daniel Augenstein, her daughter(s), Laurie Arnold and Alizabeth Ann Augenstein, and a grandson, David Augenstein. She leaves behind her sons, Steve (Amy) Augenstein, Mike Augenstein, her sister-in-law, Ruth Silvers, her grandchildren, Adam (Cori) Augenstein, Evan (Kellyann) Augenstein, Shawn Arnold, Ashley Arnold, her great grandchildren, William and Nicholas Augenstein, and her ex-daughter in law and caretaker, Kae Thomas.
Calling hours will be Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Boyd Funeral Home from 10 – 12pm with a service taking place at 12pm. From there, we will proceed to Marion Cemetery.
