Karen Elaine Duvall (Watson), age 76, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Marion Valley Post Acute nursing home. Karen was born April 19, 1948, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, to the late George Wayne and Joetta Kathleen (Morris) Watson. Karen married her husband, Paul Stephen Duvall I, on March 15, 1969, and the two remained married until his passing in April of 2009.
Karen was a very religious person who found her peace in Christ. This was often shown with her love of singing. When she was younger, she sang in church choirs and musical groups. As she aged, she made sure her voice was heard from the pew. Karen worked for 30 years in home health care where she comforted hundreds of patients and their families. Karen also loved animals and had many throughout her life.
Karen is survived by sons, Paul S. (Lynette) Duvall II, of Nevada, Ohio, and Matthew D. (Natalie) Duvall, of Annville, Pennsylvania; daughter Joanna Duvall, of Marion, Ohio; seven grandchildren (Jill, Seth, Cloe, Wolfe, Ryandale, Hawthorne, and Tennyson) and three great grandchildren (Skylar, Bentley, and Freya); along with two four-legged friends, her dog Nala and her cat Mittens. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Wayne Watson, and four-legged friends Vince (poodle) and Cecil (chihuahua).
Karen’s final resting place with be at the CreekSide EcoEternity Forest, in Marengo, Ohio. The family is planning a private gathering in Karen’s memory. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Karen Elaine Duvall in their time of need.
