Karen R (Pitchford) Gonzalez

Karen Ruth (Pitchford) Gonzalez, 67, of Marion, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Marion General Hospital.

Born on October 24, 1958, in Marion, Ohio to Robert and Doris Pitchford. Karen grew up in Marion County where she raised her family. She worked at Graphic Packaging for 20 years.

Karen was known for travelling the world before she came back to Marion to settle into her home with her husband, Juan Gonzalez. She absolutely loved her dogs; they were like her kids as well. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and so much she had several apps on her phone to play. Karen was a very loving mother and grandmother.

Karen is survived by her husband Juan Gonzalez; daughter Mindy Patterson; brothers Robert (Susan) Pitchford, Jr. and Mark (Holly) Pitchford; granddaughter Samara Allen; and grandson Prendis Brown.

She was preceded in death by her mother Doris (Pitchford) Parish, father Robert Pitchford, daughter Heather Patterson, and brother James Pitchford.

A remembrance memorial will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Boyd Funeral Home at 122 W. Columbia St., Marion, OH 43302. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
