Kenneth “Kenny” Richard Holsinger, age 69, passed away at Riverside Methodist Hospital on May 4, 2025. He was born to Ralph and Lyra (Casto) Holsinger in Portsmith, Ohio, in April of 1956. He married his wife, Joyce, in June of 2001 and they had many wonderful years together before her passing in 2024. He was known for his love of radio, getting a license to talk on certain radio channels when he was young. He had a knack for various machinery and was a mechanic on cars and other vehicles. On a smaller scale, he loved slot cars. His favorite way to spend time was with his grandchildren, he loved them more than anything and was affectionately called “Pap” by them. His daughter fondly remembers that he could always be found in his garage with one foot on a tractor and smoking a cigarette when she came over. He took great pride in having raised his great grandson, Charles Cooper.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lyra, his wife, Joyce Holsinger, his sister, his brothers, Moe, Herby, David and Randy Holsinger, his daughters, Becky Holsinger, Connie Howard, and one grandson, Bennie Howard.
He leaves behind his sons, Jason (Bonnie) Holsinger, Matt (Amber) Holsinger, his daughters, Roni (Tim) Faunce, Tina Cooper, his brother, Jeff (Ruth) Holsinger, his sister, Rosie Holsinger-Clark, his grandchildren, Christy Faunce, Brittany Faunce, Jamie Marks, Amanda Swartz, Kendra Holsinger, Shandra Holsinger, Sarah Cooper, Alisha Cooper, Alexis Howard, Junior Holsinger, George Lease Jr., Franklin Cooper Jr., John Cooper Jr., Matt, his 36+ great-grandchildren with one on the way, and his multiple nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 12 to 2pm at the Boyd Funeral Home with a funeral service following immediately after. A procession and graveside service at Grand Prairie Cemetery will take place after. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to care for the Holsinger family in their time of need.
