Kenneth Marshall Obituary

Kenneth Marshall, age 77 of Morral, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at his home, listening to his favorite music. On May 9, 1945, he was born in Marion to the late Wilfred E. and Arlene C. (Bibler) Marshall.

Kenneth graduated from Ridgedale High School in 1963 and served as senior class president, and he was a member of the State Champion Ohio 880 yard relay team in 1963. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the U.S.S. Essex in Newfoundland and Rhode Island, and he was a lifelong employee of Whirlpool Corporation, retiring in 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Morral, Ohio, and an avid gun enthusiast and collector. He loved fireworks, playing jokes on his family, feeding squirrels and birds, especially wrens, and following the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his son Eric Marshall of Prospect; his daughter Tara (Scott) Swingle of Tollesboro, Kentucky; his granddaughter Amari (Josh) Borders of Marion; his grandsons Ethan Marshall, Zion Swingle, and Javan Swingle; his ex-wife and friend Laura (Lewis) Marshall; his first cousins Sandy Frye and Debbie Delong; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lynne and Steven James and their sons Joe James and Chris James; and his good friend and neighbor Darla Hicks.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Shiri and his faithful canine companion Brutus.

A private graveside service will be held at Grand Prairie Cemetery at a later date.
