Lana Dean Willis

Lana Dean Willis, age 73, of Owensboro, KY, passed away at her residence on August 30, 2025. Lana was born on October 15, 1951, to the late Robert Frakes and Faye Sumner. She went on to marry the love of her life, Joe Loren Peterson, and they remained married until his passing.

Lana worked for Nationwide Insurance Company for over 30 years as an insurance adjuster. She was a woman of Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Frakes and Faye Sumner; her sister, Carolyn Frakes-Ries; her brothers, Robert G. “Bobby” Frakes, Donald Lewis Frakes; and her loving husband, Joe Loren Peterson.

She leaves behind two sons, David A. (Jodi) Willis and Jeffrey A. Willis; brother, Michael Troy Purcell and her special niece, Angela “Angie” Evans.

There will be no services at this time. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Willis family in their time of need.
