Larry Friar Obituary
Larry N. Friar, age 79 of Caledonia, Ohio, passed away peacefully in his home on August 8, 2018. Larry, born in Pemberville, Ohio, on December 16, 1938, was one of four children from the union of the late Raymond Friar and Leonora (Smith) Friar.
After high school, Larry served in Japan as a Navy photographer. He then married Norma Davies, whom he was married to for 57 years, and they were blessed with two children. His 45-year career in commercial photography included agencies in Toledo, Marion, and Columbus, as well as his own studio. Larry was a member of Canaan United Methodist Church in Edison, Ohio, where he actively volunteered and participated in the mission of the church.
He is survived by his wife Norma of Caledonia; his son and daughter-in-law Tim and Kelly Friar of Sunbury; his son Doug Friar of Caledonia; his siblings Fred Friar, Victor Friar, and Marlene Beggs; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law David and Theresa Friar; his granddaughter and her partner Tiffany Friar and Matt Spaulding; and great-grandchildren Brandon Friar, Hayden Foltz, McAilah Spaulding, and Brycen Spaulding.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 12 PM to 2 PM at Canaan United Methodist Church, 2006 County Road 59, Edison, Ohio 43320. Services will take place Monday, August 13, 2018 at 2 PM at the church with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Claridon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Canaan United Methodist Church.
