Lea Belle Riffle

     Lea Belle Riffle, age 91, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 12:07 AM from her home in Marion. She was born in Newark, Ohio on March 17, 1931 to the late Delvin Odell and Sarah Kate (Doomy) Shomaker. Lea married Harry Freeman Riffle on September 25, 1949 in Newark, Ohio and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2003 in Marion after 54 years of marriage.

     Lea was a 60 year member of the Fite Memorial Baptist Church. She retired in 1994 after serving 25 years as head cook at Edison Middle School. Lea has spent most of her adult life as a resident of Marion. Surviving are three sons, Harry D. (Debbie) Riffle of Phoenix, AZ., Glenn A. (Karen) Riffle of Marion, OH., & Bruce M. Riffle of Marion, OH., two daughters, Lisa J. (Jack) Cary of Phoenix, AZ. & Saramae  Ingram of Melbourne, FL., two brothers, Alva (Marsha) Shomaker & James (Bettie) Shomaker both of Utica, OH., a sister, Patricia (John) Ricket of Heath, OH., eight grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry, two brothers, and two sisters.

     A memorial service will be held at the Fite Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at 3:00 PM.  Contributions in Lea’s name may be given to her church.
