Leatha M. Wilson, age 83 of Marion, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 29, 1937 in Salyersville, Kentucky, to the late Hassel and Lulie (Howard) Howard.
Leatha worked as a housekeeper at Marion Manor Nursing Home for 20 years, and she was a longtime member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Mark A. (Petra) Smith; her daughter Brenda (Charles) Petty; her brothers Hollie (Rosa) Howard, Oscar (Ramona) Howard, Ed (Dianna) Howard, Russell (Janie) Howard, and Hager (Margretta) Howard; her sisters Mahalie Moore and Bonnie (Troy) Hall; her grandchildren Baylee (Ryan) DeWees, Sierra Smith, Kristen Taylor, Zachary Taylor, and Liane Robertson; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hassel and Lulie, her husbands Arthur S. Smith and Lemoyne B. Wilson, her son David L. Smith, her brother Jessie Howard, and her sisters Risby Howard, Reva Sanson, and Barbara LeMaster.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 11 am to 12 pm at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1449 Crissinger Rd., Marion. Services will take place at 12 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Marion Cemetery.
