Leighonna Christine Nicole Hendel

Leighonna Christine Nicole Hendel, age 11, while we feel she left us too soon; she is now free

from a lifetime of challenges brought on by Cerebral Palsy. Heaven gained the brightest and

most loving angel imaginable. Every person that ever met Leighonna became a better person

for it. The light she brought all of us will never dim. She was born on January 26th, 2009 to Levi

Hendel and Searra Sturgeon. Leighonna loved Pikachu and Jigglypuff, cookies, joking with

everyone and belly laughing, her friends and teachers at school; especially Mrs. Boes and Kari

Augenstein. She was to be in sixth grade this fall.

Left to cherish her memory are her father, Levi and stepmother Amber Hendel; grandparents,

James and Christy White and Doug and Stacy Seckel; Brothers Joey, Lataiden, Luekai, and LueKah; Sisters Lavaea, Calina,

LaMeisha, LaBrea, and Lennox.

Her little brother, LaKota, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 28th, 2020 from 4-7 PM at the Marion First Free Will Baptist

Church. The funeral service will be at 10 AM on August 29th, 2020 at the Marion First Free Will

Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Copley officiating. Burial will take place in the Caledonia

Cemetery following the funeral service. Please be sure to wear a mask and practice social

distancing if you are planning on attending either gathering.
