Linda Edington Obituary

Linda Kay Edington was a caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left this world peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on March 25, 2022, at the age of 71.

She was born to Charles and Mary Blankenship on January 29, 1951, who preceded her in death. After graduating from Ridgedale High School in 1969, Linda married Mark Edington, the love of her life for 52 years. Together, they had 2 children: Katie and Kevin. A loving and devoted mother, Linda stayed home to raise her two children until they were school age.

She returned to work for Ridgedale High School as a Guidance Counselor Secretary and dedicated herself to a 31-year career. Upon retiring, she continued her journey in public education as an Administrative Assistant in Student Services at Tri-Rivers Career Center for the past 11 years.

Linda was a strong woman of Faith, family and friends. Linda enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine, gardening, her time spent at Lake Erie fishing, and being with family and friends. She was a wonderful baker and cook and passed many of those skills to her kids and grandkids.

She is survived by her husband Mark, a daughter Katie Elson (Darin), a son Kevin (Marla) Edington, three grandchildren Austin Chivington, Brooke “DoodleBug” (Brady) Watters, and Logan Edington. She also leaves behind a sister Rita Long, a brother Tom (Pam) Blankenship, Sandy (Doug) Roszman, four “grand-doggies” and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.  Linda was such an inspiration to all she met. Our memories of her will last forever!

A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at Columbus Oncology and Hematology Associates, where Linda received treatment during the course of her cancer.
