Lucille Tackett

Lucille Tackett, age 86, passed away peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital on January 2, 2025. She was born to the late Willie and Hazel (Johnson) Burke in 1938 in Hartley, Kentucky. She married her husband, Lawson Tackett, in Clintwood, Virginia in 1964 and they had many wonderful years together before his passing in 2015. She was a homemaker all her life and prided herself on having a well-kept home.

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Hazel, her brothers, Bo and Clarence Burke, and her sisters, Polly and Janette.

She leaves behind her daughter, Teena Lynn Philo, her son, Gregory Keith Tackett, her brothers, Jeff and Burton Burke, her sister, Dansie Mullins, her two grandsons, Lawson Dale Tackett and Matthew Allen Powell, and her five great grandchildren.

Visitation is at Boyd Funeral Home on January 7, 2025, from 10 to 11 am, immediately after we will process to Grand Prairie Cemetery for a Graveside Service.
