Malcom Ray McCloud, age 85 of Prospect, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at DeWolfe House. On March 23, 1936, he was born to the late Mack and Nealie (Gibson) McCloud, and on June 20, 1959, he married his beloved wife Sue (Hunt) McCloud, who preceded him in death in 2014.
Malcom was a member of the Masons, and he was a mechanic by trade. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956, most notably as a corporal and a tank mechanic section leader in Germany, and he later retired from his position as a mechanic for Eaton Corporation after several years of work.
In his younger days, he loved hunting and fishing, taking trips out west, and taking his boat and camper up to Lake Erie. More recently, his children and grandchildren have been his pride and joy, and he truly loved his entire family. He was blessed to have had the chance to meet his newest great-grandson, born on Monday, July 12, and the family would like to thank Marion General Hospital for making such a wonderful experience happen for him.
He is survived by his daughter Pam (Terry) Lowe; his son Mike McCloud; his sisters Jo Bowen, Kay Langley, and Lana (Jerry) Venable; his grandchildren Lindsay McCloud (Kiel McCleary), Tyler (Brittany) Lowe, and Colin (Brooke) Lowe; his great-grandchildren Brynn and Cooper Lowe; and his brothers- and sisters-in-law Della McCloud, Margaret (Leo) Gilliam, Tommy Jay (Kerry) Hunt, Windell (Margie) Hunt, and John Ed (Sharon) Hunt.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sue McCloud; his parents Mack and Nealie McCloud; his sisters Berniece Rhoton, Betty Caudill, and Dee Mathews; his brothers Phil and Stan McCloud; and his brother- and sister-in-law Ralph (Faye) Hunt.
