Margaret Swihart, age 91, of Marion, Ohio, passed away in the comfort of her own home on April 25, 2025. On July 24, 1933, she was welcomed into the world by her late parents, Wayne Schoendorff and Katherine Bowers in Helena, Ohio. She married the love of her life, James Swihart, on October 7, 1956. The two of them had many wonderful years full of laughter and love before her passing. Margaret loved to take care of her family; quality time was her language of love. She was a cheerleader in high school and enjoyed the sport to the fullest extent, truth be told it was her main reason for pushing through until graduation. She also loved to ‘boogie woogie’ her way through life, feeling rhythm in her bones. She was a big baseball enthusiast, but her favorite team was the Cleveland Indians. Margaret was a devout Bible reader and attended the Crosswood United Methodist church for many years.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Jean Bucsky and Lois (Carl) Harris.
She is survived by her husband, James Swihart, son, Douglas (Vickie) Swihart, daughter, Teresa Eidson, sister, Mary Ray, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and her good friend, Jessica Campbell.
The Swihart family invites all of friends and loved ones to calling hours on April 30, 2025, at the Boyd Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The funeral service will be held May 1, 2025, at the Crosswood United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. There will be an internment service held at the Marion Cemetery immediately following the service. Pastor Josh Freshour will be officiating all services. In lieu of flowers donations can be made out to the Crosswood United Methodist Church’s roof fund.
The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to care for the Swihart family in their time of need.
