Marilyn Frances (Schillinger) (Moore) Cunningham, 95, of Marion, Ohio passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2023.
Marilyn was born on August 17, 1928 to Geraldine Adkins and Henry Schillinger in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She attended Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio and later relocated and graduated from Harding High School in Marion, Ohio in 1946 and then met and married George W. Moore.
Throughout her working life, she was employed at Clark Metal Products, Hotel Harding, and later became a long-time employee of Quaker Oats Company in Marion.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ben W. Haubert, of Lucas, Ohio, and is survived by her husband Lewis C. Cunningham of Marion, her brother Arthur D. Blair of Beaufort, South Carolina, and her sons Thomas A. Moore (Leah[d]) of Marion, and Steven G. Moore (Kristi) of Prospect. She has 6 step-children: Walter Carroll (d), John J. Cunningham (d), Steve Cunningham (d), Jim Cunningham of Austin Texas, and Donald Cunningham and Helen Cunningham of Marion. She also has 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. In addition, she has had 2 dogs that she loved very much, Barkley (d) and Muffin.
Throughout her life she enjoyed homemaking, gardening, traveling and was surrounded and loved by good friends, and especially enjoyed the friendship with her former work friends, the “Quaker Girls.” She was always fun, smart, witty, and enjoyed music, playing cards and writing poetry.
Friends and family may come to honor Marilyn’s life from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Boyd Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow starting at 1pm at the funeral home. A burial will follow the funeral service at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
