Marilyn Wilson Obituary

Marilyn Jean Wilson, age 64, of Marion, OH was suddenly called home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Wanda Straub, father-in-law James K. Wilson, son Joshua Wilson and nephew Alex Wilson.

Marilyn was born on September 7, 1960, attended Marion City Schools and was a graduate of the Harding High School class of 1978. She attended Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta, GA earning degrees in Interior Design and Fashion Merchandising. Marilyn used her education and skills in a career of 40 years in retail management with County Seat, Eddie Bauer, and Speedway. After her retirement she spent countless hours serving as a caregiver for both the young and old. Marilyn was an active member of the Marion Nazarene Church and invited many people to services who became believers of Christ. She was known for her radiant smile, her caring nature, and her hospitality. She always had a drink and food ready for family and friends who stopped by for an evening on the patio or front porch, or for a Buckeyes or Browns football game. She loved to cook and to try out new recipes for her husband and guests. She loved all of God’s creation, especially her cats, the herbs that she grew, and the flowers that she used to make beautiful spring and fall planters that were placed around the home and landscape. She was always looking forward to the next home renovation project and had an eye for the finishing touches of a design.

Marilyn is survived by her husband-Timmy Wilson, sisters-Paula Stewart of Northfield, MN, Lois Glazener (Ron) of La Vernia, TX, niece-Kira Smitka (Dylan) and great-nephew baby Caleb Smitka of San Antonio, TX, several cousins and her cats, Sylvester, and Graycie. Also survived by her husband’s family, mother-Martha Wilson, brothers-Jimmy Wilson (Stephanie), Jerry Wilson (Michelle), sister-Terri Smith (Bob) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be missed dearly by the many family, friends, and co-workers she
touched during her earthly life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marion Nazarene Church, 233 W. Church St., Marion, OH 43302, or to an animal
care shelter of your choice. Arrangements are pending with Boyd Funeral Home.
