Mary Louise Hill

Mary Louise Hill, 90, of Delaware, OH, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Marion General Hospital. On April 5, 1932, she was born in Crawford County, OH, to the late Robert Albert Riedel and Edith Undine Wagner. She would marry her late husband, Alton Dale Hill, on June 4, 1951. They would spend 54 years together before his passing on November 17, 2005, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital.

Mary was a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed cooking for family get togethers and holiday celebrations. She loved fall and Christmas time. She sang and listened to gospel music and going to midnight service. Spending time with the family was important to her at home and even going on vacation with them. In her free time, she quilted and did woodworking with her husband. She also was a sensational dancer.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother; Robert Riedel, Jr., sisters; Clara Starkey and Phyllis Young.

She is survived by her son; David Hill of Delaware, OH, daughters; Suzette (Steven) Miller of Mt. Gilead, OH, Cheryl (John) Linder of Edison, OH, and Valerie (Jeremy) Austin of Marion, OH, brothers; Alton Riedel of Sycamore, OH, Verlin Riedel of Sycamore, OH, Richard Riedel of Tiffin, OH, and James Riedel of Benton Ridge, OH, sisters; Roma Baird of Shelbyville, IL, and Kathy Clinger of Sycamore, OH, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at the Grand Prairie Cemetery on August 3, 2022, at 11:15 am. Minister Brian Martin of UMC Mt. Gilead will be officiating all services.
