Nancy Clara Ann (Haviland) Bayles

Nancy Clara Ann (Haviland) Bayles, age 93, of Caledonia, OH, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Nancy was born on January 12, 1932, in Marion, OH, to the late Ray S. and Ruth (Norton) Haviland. She graduated from Harding High School. Nancy met the love of her life Wayne L. Bayles after being set up on a blind date by their cousins. The two were married on May 2, 1953, in Marion, OH, and would remain together until his passing in 2006.

Nancy was a woman of faith and enjoyed many activities such as fishing and roller skating. However, her true passion was cooking and baking. Nancy became well known for the pies she baked, for her church. She even won a pie baking contest. Nancy never followed recipes, and she would always add her personal touch to everything she cooked. Nancy loved singing with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also had a love for animals, especially her dogs.

Nancy will be missed by sons, John (Barb) Bayles, and Steven (Jenny) Bayles, daughter Barb (Bob) Rainier, 9 grandchildren Becky (Tom) Carpenter, Brittany (Darren) Dowler, Brad Rainier, Kaylee Witzel, Kyle Witzel, Dustin (Andrea) Bayles, Jason Bayles, Missy (Jake) Caldwell, Katie Bayles, 9 great grandchildren Liam, Mackenzie, and Teagan Carpenter, Carter and Audrey Bayles, Wyatt Dowler, and Leelan, Oaklynn, and Stella Mowers, best friends, Mary Clair Brewer, and Harriet McGlothlin, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Ann Wrinkle, 2 grandchildren Elizabeth A. “Beth” Bayles and Jessica Mae Bayles, brothers, Marion, Robert, Thomas, John “Ben” and, Little Ray Haviland, and sisters Donna Greenland and Mary Davis.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation for Nancy on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 10a until 11a at the Boyd Funeral home. The Funeral Service will start at 11a at the Boyd Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Sharp Officiating. The committal service will take place following the funeral procession at Caledonia Cemetery. The family would like to give a special thanks, to Ohio Health Hospice with Compassus for providing Nancy with excellent care and support. In lieu of flowers that family has asked that donations be made to the Morrow County Dog Shelter. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Nancy Bayles in their time of mourning.
