Nancy Ruth (Zent) Waters

Nancy Ruth Waters, age 83, of Marion, passed away on Thursday July 3, 2025, at the Marion General Hospital. Nancy was born to the late Howard Gaunt, and Jane (McNown) Zent in Huntington, IN., on January 21, 1942. Nancy sold maps for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 10 years before becoming a shuttle bus driver for the Buzz 'N Shuttle Service, for the city of Marion.

Nancy loved long car rides, roller skating, and bowling. Nancy was a big fan of music. Some of her favorite artists included Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Andy Williams, Josh Groban, Chicago, and The Beach Boys.She also liked listening to 106.1 FM. Nancy was a social butterfly that brought sunshine into anyone's day that she came across. She also loved talking on the phone with her friends and family, and really enjoyed sending and receiving Hallmark cards from them. Nancy also found enjoyment from catalog shopping, and loved snow covered bridges, lighthouses, photography, sunflowers, animals, and devoting her life to the Lord. Nancy was also a big Ohio State Fan!

Nancy married the late James G. Waters on July 10, 1965, then later had three daughters. Nancy is survived by daughters, Heather Waters, of Montana, Heidi Waters, of Marion, and Hope Waters of Marion, and grandchildren Sarah Waters, and Courtney Tyner, and great grandson James(Jimmy).  Nancy also has numerous cousins and family from Indiana.

Friends and family are invited to the visitation for Nancy, Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm at The Boyd Funeral Home. The funeral service will start at 1 pm with Pastor Joe Harrison officiating. The committal service will be taking place at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus OH at 2.pm. There will not be a procession to the Cemetery, those that wish to attend the committal are invited to meet us at the cemetery at 2.pm. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Nancy Ruth Waters in their time of need.
