Norman L. Swartz

Norman L. Swartz, age 94 of Marion, passed away after a brief illness on May 31, 2024 at Legacy of Marion.

He was born on December 18, 1929 in Massillon, Ohio to Minnie Viola (Zeigler) Swartz and Roy H. Swartz, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo (Berry) Swartz, whom he married in 1960, daughter, Gail (Jerry) Miller of Eastover, S.C., son, Dean Swartz, grandson, Douglas Swartz, granddaughters, Amy Carswell, Ashley Miller, Jessee Holbrook, Kaylee Swartz, six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Doug Swartz, brothers, Roy Swartz and Ralph Swartz and a sister, Marie Swartz.

He retired from Erie Lackawanna Railway after more than 34 years of service.  He will truly be missed by family and friends.

The family would like to thank the employees of Gentiva Hospice and Legacy of Marion.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 11am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Swartz family.
