Orley E. Fout

Orley E. Fout, age 91 of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Orley entered into this world on July 21, 1928 to the late Elton Fout and Florence (Layman) Mitchell in Marion, OH.  On July 18, 1953, he married Thelma Long in Angola, IN.

Orley served our country in the United States Navy near the end of World War II and was called back up during the Korean Conflict.  He worked as a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service for at least 28 years.  He was a longtime member of the Trinity Baptist Church.  He enjoyed making Christmas presents for the family with his woodworking skills.  Orley will truly be missed by family and friends.

Orley was preceded in death by his parents; his son: Kevin Fout, his great-grandson: Benjamin Herbet Orley Yost, and his brothers: Walter Fout and Rollie McEntire.

Those who will cherish his memories include his wife of 66 years: Thelma Fout of Marion, OH; his children: Susan (Kevin) Eilers of Powell, OH, Karen Clark (John McDowell) of Caledonia, OH, Donald (Teri) Fout of Mechanicsburg, OH, Thomas Fout of Marion, OH and David Fout of Marion, OH; his daughter -in-law: Debbie Fout; his sister Janet (Art) Armstrong of Auburn, CA; his numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren: Brian King, Randy (Sherri) King - Shaina King (Britton Pennington), Christina Yost - Brittany (Matthew) Elswick - Jack and Oscar Elswick, Scott (Sarah) Ferguson - Garret & Grant Ferguson, Sara Collins - Zac, Kendall and Paytan Collins, Kati Kennedy - Jayden Timmons, Harleigh and Paysleigh Kennedy, Chad Belt - Connor and Hannah Belt, Susan Wheeler, Janise Fout - Kody, Aylaun, Givonie and Nazya - Malaki, Eric (Heather) Fout - Eric II and Erica Fout, Amanda (Nick) Miller, Jeramie (Kari) Fout - Jaymeson and Tyler Fout, Jessica Fout - Peysen and Weston Wadell, Lauren (Tim) Meade - Wyatt and Warren, Kirby Franklin - Elayna and Chyler Franklin, Kelly (Sean) Sullivan - Brady and Lyla Jane Louise Sullivan, Hayley Adkins (Aron Stoneburner) - Easton, Braxton and Aspyn Rayne, Alec Mowery, Patty Fout, Samantha Fosnaugh, Aric, Tristen, and Taylen  Labounty and Faggs family.

Friends and family may come to honor Orley’s life on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 11am to 1pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home in Marion, OH.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 starting at 1pm with Marion Area Veteran’s Council closing with military honors at the funeral home.  Burial will follow funeral service at the Grand Prairie Cemetery.  Donations may be given in Orley’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
