Pauline Parker, age 100, passed away peacefully at home in the company of her loving daughter and grandson. Born to the late Hazie B. Williams and James H. Sexton in Carter City, KY. Pauline married the love of her life, William H. Parker, in 1943 and they had many happy years together. William (Herman) and Pauline moved from Kentucky to Ohio when Herman accepted a job with the Marion Power Shovel. She loved to be involved with family life and helped many family members transition from the hills of Kentucky to Ohio. While many relatives and friends remained in Kentucky, Pauline loved to visit “home” and did so often. While Pauline never had a driver’s license, travel was something she enjoyed very much. Many trips were made to Florida, the Smokey Mountains and summers were spent at their place around Lake Erie. Her favorite trip was to Hawaii with her brother Carl and his family. Pauline worked many different jobs but she was most proud to be a homemaker. She always raised a big garden and preserved most of the harvest. The family could never wait for a new batch of her famous apple butter and green beans. She loved to have family get togethers and New Year’s Eve was always the big event. Everyone loved going to Aunt Pauline’s to ring in the new year with good food and good company.
Pauline is preceded in death by her parents, Hazie and James, her brothers, William Henry Sexton, Carl (Marilyn) Sexton, and James Harrison Sexton, her sisters, Marjory (Elwood) Cooper, Nellie (Ted) Watt, Frances Snook and her son, William Donald.
She leaves behind her daughter, Edwinna “Kaye” Radebaugh, her grandson Lee Michael Radebaugh, her sister, Laura (Bob) Lewis, and many nieces and nephews Special thanks to Avita Hospice, Dawn Sperling, and Dr. Rebecca Strickland for their care in Pauline’s time of need. Her visitation will take place on November 14, 2024, from 12-1pm at Boyd Funeral Home, with the funeral service taking place at 1pm with David Braxton officiating. Immediately following the funeral service, the committal service will be taking place at Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family of Paulie Parker in their time of mourning.
