Pedro L Acosta

Pedro L. Acosta, age 61, has gone to be with the lord August 26, 2024. He was born in Havana, Cuba on October 19, 1962, to Silvia Peraza (Alonso) Acosta and Reynaldo Acosta Perez. Pedro came to America when he was 17 years old in search of a better life. He lovingly raised 3 daughters that he was so proud of. He was married to his ex-wife and long-time friend, Kathy Acosta, for 25 years. She was an important part of his everyday care for the last year of his life.

He was a charming character with his heavy accent and playful personality, Pedro was the man in the room you would meet and never forget. He drove trucks and worked construction for a living. His hobbies included homing pigeons and raising farm animals.

The family would like to thank all long-time and new friends for being a part of Pedro’s life. A big thank you to the Riverside ICU care team for providing the best care when they were needed the most. Also, a very special thank you to Dr. Ahmed Mohammad Ghany, MD., who helped give Pedro’s family another 20 years with Pedro after a devastating brain cancer diagnosis. Life is thrilling but short, hold onto those you love.

Pedro is preceded in death by his mother, Silvia Peraza (Alonso) Acosta, and father, Reynaldo Acosta Perez. He leaves behind his sister, Patricia Caridad Acosta, his children, Brandy Hennessy, Chantel (Richard) Acosta, Melissa (Nathan) Brammer, and his grandchildren, Mahayla, Haylie, Skyla, Gabriel, Teagan, Calvin, Adelle.
