Peggy Marlene Imboden, age 76, of Marion, passed away on October 17, 2025, at her
home. Peggy was born in Marion, to the late Irwin Orton and Virginia Aline (Ward)
Baumgartner, on September 6, 1949. Peggy graduated from high school and married
the love of her life John Lee Imboden on May 12, 1968, and the two remained together
until her passing. Peggy worked for Marion General Hospital as a Billing Clerk for over
20 years before retirement.
Peggy was an avid reader whose favorite author was James Paterson. Peggy had a
green thumb and enjoyed spending time in her garden. Whenever she got the chance
Peggy loved to travel, of which her favorite place was Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.
Peggy was very proud to be an Army Wife and even served as the President of the
American legion Post 584 for several years. Peggy also loved sports and
participated in “Old Folks” softball leagues where she played catcher. What Peggy was
known best for her love for children and she spent countless hours helping children
whenever she could.
Left to cherish Peggy’s memory are her Husband, John Imboden, brother Jerry Binau,
sisters, Teena Chaney, Jacqueline Spurgeon, and grandchildren, Cari and Michael
Imboden.
Peggy was preceded in death by Parents, children, John L. “Bubba” Imboden Jr. and
Jennifer Lynn (21 days old), and brother Marvin Bumgarner.
Friends and family are invited to the visitation of Peggy that is being held Wednesday,
October 22, 2025, from 4pm until 7pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. The funeral for Peggy
will take place the following day at the Boyd Funeral Home at 11 am Thursday, October
23, 2025, with Pastor Richard officiating the committal service will follow the funeral
procession at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
