Ray Forest Conley

Ray Forest Conley, age 84 of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Medcentral Mansfield Hospital.

Ray was born on May 16, 1939 to the late Dona and Maude (Blanton) Conley in Magoffin County, Kentucky. On February 11, 1961, he married the late Ola Meade in Magoffin County, Kentucky.

Ray retired after working 25 years at Tecumseh and 25 years from the City of Marion in the Maintenance Department. He loved going to casinos. He was a great gardener, a very hard worker and had the “gift of gab” because he never knew a stranger. He will truly be missed by family and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Dona and Maude Conley; his wife, Ola Conley; his brothers: Marvin Conley, Earnest Conley, Herbert “Doc” Conley, Edd Conley and Guy Conley; his sisters: Alberta Ralston, Juanita Litteral, Darlene Gevedon and Louise Conley; his granddaughter, Christina Roberts; and his very special son-in-law, Eric Meadows.

Those who will cherish his memories include his children: Bobby (Connie) Conley of Martin, Kentucky, Dee (Dennie) Roberts of Marion, Ohio, Mona (Jay) Gilbert of Marion, Ohio, Lisa Meadows of Marion, Ohio, Gina (Michael) Bickham of Rockledge, Florida, Shelley (Troy) Burge of Marion, Ohio; his brother, Arbie (Jan) Conley of Johnson County, Kentucky; his sister, Jean Howard of Newark, Ohio; his grandchildren: Sarah (Christopher) Boehm, Eric (Sara) Meadows, Daniel Gilbert, Phillip (Amie) Gilbert, Justin Gilbert, Tyler (Tiffany) Hicks, Dillon Hicks, Kaitlyn (Mike) Barber, Brandon Bickham, Breanna Burge and Britney Bickham,; his fourteen great grandchildren; and his several nieces and nephews

Friends and family may come to honor Ray’s life from 11am to 1pm on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Marion Enterprise Baptist Church, 130 Orton Street, Marion, Ohio 43302. A funeral service will follow starting at 1pm at the church with Pastor Kevin McCoy officiating. A burial will follow the funeral service at Claridon Cemetery. Donations may be given for the Peanut Butter Jelly Truck at Luke 3:11 Ministries, 499 Ballentine Avenue, Marion, Ohio 43302. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Conley Family.
