Raymond J. Harbolt, age 65 of Bucyrus, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born on September 10, 1958 in Marion to the late James Woodrow and Dixie Lillian (Johnson) Harbolt.
Ray graduated from Ridgedale High School in 1976, and then he enlisted in the United States Navy. Most recently, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for Bucyrus City Schools. His passions included hunting, fishing, and going to concerts, and he was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed photography and dog training, as well as his time spent in Killdeer Plains and on Lake Erie.
He is survived by his son James (Chelsea) Harbolt; his daughter Shannon (Charlie) Lantz; his brother Mike Harbolt; his sisters Olivia “Libby” Mosley and Linda Sisson; his grandchildren Trextyn, Lucas, and Peyton Harbolt and Brytanee, Isabella, Lillian, and Rosaleigh Lantz; his significant other Linda Moran; and his beloved dog, Brutus.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Dixie Harbolt and his brother James “Jim” Walton Harbolt.
Friends and family may gather to honor Ray’s memory on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 12 pm to 1 pm at the Marion Naz, 233 W. Church St., Marion. A memorial service will follow at 1 pm at the church. There will be a gathering at VFW Post 7201, 1614 Marion Marysville Rd., Marion, immediately following the service.
