Rebecca "Becky" Ann Doss

Rebecca “Becky” Ann Doss, 86, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at the Marion General Hospital.

Becky was born in Richwood, Ohio on July 29, 1936 to the late Truman George and Helen Jeanete (Douglass) Ellinwood.  On June 6, 1954, she married the late David H. Doss in Magnetic Springs, Ohio.  They shared a happy and loving life together of 64 years.

Becky graduated from Richwood High School in 1954. She worked in the Marion City School Administration and was a secretary for George Washington School for 27 years before she retired in 2000.  Becky enjoyed reading, crocheting and gardening.

Her family was very important to her. She spent time going on fishing trips with David at Lake Erie and taking vacations there as well.  She enjoyed her trips to Myrtle Beach, Florida, Hawaii and visiting all five Great Lakes.  Becky will truly be missed by family and friends.

Those who will cherish her memories include her children: Lori (Tim) Baker of Marion, Ohio and Gary (Vicki) Doss of Englewood, Florida; her sister-in-law Ethel Ellinwood of Marion, Ohio; her three grandchildren: Zachariah Baker, Brock (Cynthia) Shamblin and Holly (Tom) Westwood; her one great grandchild: Glenn Shamblin; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband David H. Doss; her five brothers: David Reed, Frank Reed, Truman Ellinwood, Ronald Ellinwood and Kenny Ellinwood; her three sisters: Marie Kingsley, Charlotte Wilson and Janie Ratterman; and her brother-in-law:  Harvey “Al” Doss.

Family and friends may come to honor Becky’s life on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 11am to 1pm at Boyd Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow starting at 1pm with Pastor Marcellus de Oliveira officiating.  Burial will follow the funeral service at the Marion Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given in Becky’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 and/or Ohio Health Hospice – Marion, OhioHealth Foundation, 3430 OhioHealth Parkway, Fl. 3, Columbus, OH 43202, (put a memo in the donation to go to the Marion Ohio Health Hospice).  The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Doss family.
