Robert Perry Mowry, 89, of Marion, OH, passed peacefully from this earth surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at DeWolfe Place Assisted Living. On May 11, 1932, he was born to the late Warren Knight Mowry and Marjorie Louise (Pickering) Mowry in Brooklyn, NY. He would go on to marry his loving wife, Bea, in Jackson, MI on December 12, 1964.
Bob was a hard-working man and thoroughly enjoyed his career and travels. He was a Superintendent at HL Crouse Pipeline Construction—spanning five decades— and, for this accomplishment, he was well known and extremely proud. After retirement from HL Crouse, he decided that just wasn’t enough. So, he went back to work again for various companies in the Pipeline Industry and finally called it quits at the healthy and active age of 82.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean War from 1953 to 1958. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Moose Lodge #1567, the VFW #582, and the F.O.E. of Fostoria, OH. In Bob’s free time, he loved watching Ohio State football or listening to country music and bands while dancing in his cowboy boots and denim jeans adorned with one of his many belts with big buckles. He loved spending time amongst friends and family while enjoying a few beers and bringing laughter and good cheer with his humorous demeanor. He was quick witted and always had a fun story or joke to share with anyone willing to listen…And, yes, people always listened…He could entertain a crowd! He was certainly one of a kind and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Kathy Ann Wagner and his son; David Lee Ceasor.
Bob is survived by his wife; Bea Mowry, of Marion, OH, his sons; Robert “Rob” (Jackie) Mowry of Bedford, IN, and Robert “Bob” (Staci) Mowry of Caledonia, OH, his daughters; Nancy Jo Fox of Bedford, IN, Belle Ceasor of Marysville, MI, and LaDonna (Jim) Tribble of Conway, AR, his sister; Nancy Mowry-Hall of Littleton, CO, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family may join the Mowry family for visitation on Friday, October 1st, 2021, from 10am to 12pm at the Boyd Funeral Home with funeral service immediately following visitation. There will be no gravesite service at this time.
