Robert W. Reese

Robert Wayne “Bob” Reese, age 86 of Marion, formerly of Richwood, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Kingston Residence of Marion. On March 5, 1937, he was born in Oak Hill, Ohio, to the late Howard Reese and Lavera (Smith) Reese-Simmons, and on November 14, 1958, he married the love of his life, Lois (Erwin) Reese, in York, Ohio.

Bob retired as a police officer of 25 years from Richwood at the rank of Captain and from the paint department of Whirlpool after 51 years of service, and he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Stephen J. Chenney VFW and Post 870 in Richwood. He enjoyed yard sales, flea markets, and antiquing, and he was a former member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. He also loved going to breakfast, especially in the Whirlpool cafeteria where he spent time with old coworkers and friends.

He is survived by his son Scott (Patricia) Reese of Wapakoneta; his daughter Stacie (Vernon) Beltz of Prospect; his brothers William “Bill” Reese and Gary Reese of Richwood; his brothers-in-law Jacob Sarver and Nelson Erwin; his sister-in-law Ellen (Jerry) DeWitt; his grandchildren Quinton Beltz, Kendell (Matthew) Cherry, Kaitlin (Daniel) Rice, Coleton (Ashley) Beltz, Bradley (Torie) Reese, Brandt (Aerial) Reese, Todd Reese, Staci (Bob) Cotrell, Benjamin (Faith) Harrod, and Kendall (Kasey) Harrod; 23 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Lois Reese; his parents Howard Reese and Lavera Reese-Simmons; his brother Richard “Dick” Reese; his sisters Sue Ann Sarver and Cindy Smith; and his grandchildren Kelton and Courtnie Beltz.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 11 am at Claiborne Cemetery, 26763 OH-37, Richwood, OH 43344, with Pastor Jeff Webb officiating.
