Robert Wayne Temple, age 68 of Waldo, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at his residence. Robert “Bob” was born to the late William and Mary (Fout) Temple in Marion, Ohio, on November 17, 1952. He graduated from Pleasant High School in 1971 and Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology in 1976. On September 1, 1973, Bob married the love of his life Deborah (Wilds).
Bob worked as a pharmacist for 34 years. He was frequently tinkering with his various invention ideas, woodworking, or solving a problem using PVC pipe. He was blessed to have a close-knit and loving family, whom he enjoyed spending time with. He was fluent in the language of sarcasm and truly got a thrill out of picking at his daughters.
Bob was especially committed to serving our Lord and Savior at Calvary Bible Baptist Church, where he was a member for 44 years. He served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Financial Secretary, and enjoyed serving in many other ways throughout the years. He grew up attending Emmanuel Baptist Church and accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at an early age. He was a faithful soul winner. He had a fervent desire to share what God had done for him. He believed in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ: that He was born to a virgin, lived a perfect life, and died for the sins of all on the cross; that He was buried and in 3 days arose from the dead, is alive in Heaven, and is preparing a home for those that believe in Him. We know that Bob is in Heaven with His Savior and that he would want to greet every one of us there. If you do not know if you are going to Heaven, or how to get there, Bob’s wife and daughters would welcome the opportunity to share that with you. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years Deborah; daughters: Cassandra (Keith) Green, Kristen (Jason) Taylor, Chelsea (Joseph) Byrd, Kinsey Irwin; 14 grandchildren: Noah, Micaia, Roman, Josiah, and Jordan Green; Evan, Lucas, and Karter Taylor; Gabriel, Iola, Robert, and Josiah Byrd; and Kennedy and Harper Irwin; brothers: Paul, William “Billy,” John (Isabel), Donald, and Jimmy Temple, and sister, Mary Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his sister, Caroline Wood.
Friends and family may call Friday, April 30, 2021, from 5pm to 7pm, and Saturday, May 1, at 9am, with the funeral service following at 10am. All arrangements will be held at Calvary Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Floyd Radebaugh officiating the service. The committal service will immediately follow the funeral at the Caledonia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Calvary Bible Baptist Church. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Bob Temple in their time of need.
