Robert "Bob" Glenn Withrow

Robert “Bob” Glenn Withrow, age 92 of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at is residence surrounded by those who loved him.

Bob was born on June 29, 1929 to the late William and Madelaine (Herd) Withrow in Marion, Ohio. He had a sister, Barbara Rider who preceded him in death.

Bob served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. 

Bob began working at Wilhelms Paints in 1953. He then acquired the business in 1969 where he and his family operated the business until the present. Wilhelms continues to serve the local community to this day, being owned and operated by Bob’s two sons, Mark and Doug Withrow.

Bob married Mary Tippett (aka Mammy) on November 23, 1952, in Kinsman, Ohio. Mary and Bob had two children, Doug (Rebekah) Withrow of Marion, Ohio and Mark (Susan) Withrow of Delaware, Ohio. Bob, or Grandpa as he was called by his 5 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, will be remembered as a local business owner, a veteran, and a friend to many. However, most of all, Bob will be remembered as a kind, overly generous and loving father and grandfather who was always there for his family, doing and providing whatever his family needed. Grandpa was always quick with a lung splitting hug and a larger than life laugh that made you feel welcome and safe in his home and his heart. 

Private family services will be held. Everyone is welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Brickyard on Main, 135 S. Main St, Marion, Ohio from 4pm to 6pm. Donations may be given in Bob’s memory to the Marion Community Foundation, 504 S. State St, Marion, Ohio 43302.
