Rodney James Alderman, age 61 of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. On July 27, 1962, he was born in Columbus to the late James and Peggy (Stroud) Alderman, and on September 1, 1984, he married the love of his life, Robin (Rush).
Rod worked as a district supervisor for United Dairy Farmers for 20 years, and he was known as a dedicated man and a hard worker. He was also known for his unique sense of humor. The most important things to him were his wife, his kids, his grandkids, and The Ohio State Buckeyes, in that order. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Robin Alderman; his children Tabby (Jon) Winters, Richard Alderman, Shanté (Danny Hollingsworth) Alderman, RJ (Richard) Alderman, and Danielle Ross; his siblings Jim (Ruth) Alderman, Don (Lori) Alderman, Brenda (Kenny) Boyd, and Micah (Amanda) Alderman; 15 grandchildren, including special grandson Hayden Alderman; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special niece Sabra.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Peggy and his grandson Talon.
Private calling hours will be held for the family. A public graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 12:30 pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family asks that attendees wear their favorite OSU attire or the signature scarlet and gray.
