Ronald "Duke" Fitch

Ronald “Duke” Louis Fitch, age 70, passed away at his home in Marion, Ohio on Wednesday, May 4, 2022.  He was born on July 5, 1951, in the Town of Marion, Ohio in to the late Theodore R. Fitch and Alberta Fitch-Browning.  He attended Harding High School and graduated in 1969. Ron was married to Debbie Long on September 20, 1980, in Clinton, Virginia.  He is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Theodore Fitch Jr. and brother Robert Fitch.  He is survived by daughters Melissa Jeanette Fitch, Angela Marie Fitch-Haney and son Steven Michael Allen.  His daughters and son had seven grandchildren, grandsons Maddox Aiden Hunt, Ethan Tyler Haney and Gavin Louis Haney; granddaughters Gracie Faye Allen, Olivia Belle Allen, Julia Elizabeth Allen and Ava Marie Haney.  He is further survived by son- and daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In both his younger and later years, Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, golfing, and watching his favorite teams, the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeye’s play football.  He even had his hands in competing in golden glove boxing in his younger years.  He loved visiting Arizona and being out in nature. He loved to frequent his favorite bar, The Ok Cafe with friends.   He will be missed dearly by friends and family from Ohio, Michigan and Arizona.

Memorial services for Ronald Fitch will be held at Boyd Funeral Home in Marion, Ohio at 122 W Columbia St, Marion, OH 43302.  Visitation with family will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 4pm to 6pm with a service following afterwards.

Condolences may be sent to her daughter’s home at 1626 Oxford Rd, Marion Ohio 43302. The family would like to thank friends and family for reaching out in support and for the cards, letters, food, and flowers.
