Ronnie Eugene McKinniss

Ronnie Eugene McKinniss, age 79 of Marion, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, at the Marion General Hospital. On July 22, 1942, in Vinton Co., OH, he was born to the late Pearl McKinniss and Blanche Thacker. He went on to marry his wife Betty (Hammond) McKinniss.

Ronnie’s most prominent job was working at the Union Tank Car Co. for twenty-six years before retiring. In his free time, he was a member of the Moose Lodge #889. He also enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music, and traveling. He loved spending time with his family at his campsite at the Hickory Grove campgrounds.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; Betty (Hammond) McKinniss, son; James McKinniss, daughter; Rhonda, and his four brothers; Ralph, Stanley, Leo & Charles McKinniss

Ronnie is survived by his grandson; James (Amanda) McKinniss of Marion, OH, granddaughters; Jessika McKinniss of Marion, OH, and Sara Ashburn of Vinton Co., OH, his great-grandchildren; Kenleigh & Harper McKinniss. Dylan & Gabrealle Phillips, and Roman Summers, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family has invited loved ones and friends to celebrate Ronnie’s life during calling hours on Monday, October 4th, 2021, at the Boyd Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 5th, 2021, at the funeral home at 12 p.m. The interment service will be held immediately following the service at the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Masks are optional currently. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Family of Ronnie McKinniss in their time of need.
