Ronnie Ray Tackett, age 73, of Marion passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 9:58 AM at his residence. He was born in Meigs County, Ohio on October 25, 1950, the son of the late Ernest and Zella Mae (McFarland) Tackett. On October 16, 1976 he married the former Dorothy Louise Imbody in Green Camp, Ohio and she survives.
Ronnie was co-owner of Logan Valley Pawn Shop in Bellefontaine, Ohio for 20 years. He was also employed for over 25 years with the Marion Power Shovel as a weld set-up man before his retirement. Ronnie served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Along with his wife, Dorothy, Ronnie is survived by 2 sons; Troy N. (Natalie) Tackett of Marion, OH. & D.J. (Nicole) Barron of Marion, OH., a brother; Glenn (Florence) Tackett of Galion, OH., a sister, Jackie (Larry) Williams of Willard, OH., 4 grandchildren which he adored, Cheyenne (Brandon) Malacara, Tyler Tackett, Jaylen Tackett, & Ashley (Brett) Fruth, brother-in-laws, Jim (Peggy) Imbody of Waldo, OH., John “Boone” Imbody of LaRue, OH., sister-in-laws, Mary (Rob) Berridge of Prospect, OH., & Laura (Mark) Reed of Clarksville, TX., along with numerous nieces & nephews. Ronnie was preceded in death by a brother, Dean Tackett, 2 sisters, Patricia McManus & Delores Jean Jones, brother-in-law, William Imbody, and sister-in-law, Rosalie (Myron) Park.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 12:00 Noon in the Boyd Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Hord officiating. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM until service time. Military honors will be provided by the Marion County Veterans Council. Donations in Ronnie’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. The family would like to offer a “Heart Felt Thank You” to Tranquility Hospice and Angel’s Nurses for all their care at this difficult time and to all the family & friends for their support. “Until We Meet Again”
