Ruby Josephine Linger

Our beloved mother, Ruby Josephine Linger, 93, 478 Clover Avenue, passed away Monday, May 17th at her home with family.

Born 2/24/1928, she was the daughter of Samuel Moag and Margret Knox Moag in Perry, New York. Ruby graduated from Pavilion Central High School and then moved to Rochester New York where she graduated from The Rochester Business Institute.

After graduation from the Rochester Business Institute, she was employed as a Medical Secretary in Ithaca New York until she he met the love of her life, Oren Linger. They were married in Pavilion, New York in and were inseparable for 72 years of blissful marriage until Oren preceded her in death in 2020.She has now gone to join the Lord and the love of her life.

Ruby and Oren initially settled in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and moved to Marion, Ohio in 1959. Ruby and Oren immediately became members of Trinity Baptist Church were Oren taught Sunday School and Ruby volunteered in the Nursery and Soup Kitchen. They remained devoted members until they passed. Ruby was the heart and soul of our family. A brave, kind and delightful woman, she made a friend of everyone she met. She had a heart of gold, but was determined and feisty. Mom made everything good, nothing was too hard and she persevered always. She taught us all that you can overcome any handicap and achieve whatever you set your mind to accomplish. We will miss her warmth, her laugh, her stories and especially her loving “hugs.” We are comforted in the knowledge that she has gone to join the Lord and the love of her live in Heaven.

She is survived by three daughters and a son, Jacqueline Linger at home, Diana Sturtz (Jim) of Pinellas Park, Florida, Joann Linger of Tampa, Florida and Robert Linger (Ann) of Lutz, Florida; six grandchildren, James, Michael, Bryan, Marc, Evie and Eric and five great-grandchildren, Lily, Hayleigh, Spencer, Rebekka and Malochi.

Visiting hours will be held 2-4pm on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Boyd Funeral Home, 122 W. Columbia Street, Marion. The funeral service will be held at 10am, Monday May 24, 2021 at Trinity Baptist Church, 244 S. Main Street, Marion with Pastor Daniel McCoy officiating. Burial will take place following at Marion Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Soup Kitchen at Trinity Baptist Church.
