Ruth Belford, age 87, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her home in Marion, Ohio. She was born November 16, 1933 in Halo, KY to the late Bill and Sarah Jane Hall. On December 22, 1956, she married Thomas L. Belford.
Ruth was a talented seamstress, sewing for several downtown clothing stores and private clients for many years. She also made quilts and Cabbage Patch dolls for family and friends. She was a homemaker and loved cooking meals for her family. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and shopping.
She is survived by her sons; Thomas L. Belford II, Robert K. (Janice) Belford, and daughter; Deborah L. Browning, all of Marion, a brother; Bill (Veronica) Hall, Jr., sisters; Jean Seiter, Ethel (Tollie) Gamble, Mary Ann Romero, Joan (Bill) Peacher, and Mona (Wayne) Knight, 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers; Estill, Lloyd, Evin, and Cleveland Hall, sister, Estie Williams, and son-in-law, Johnny Browning.
Visitations will be held at the Boyd Funeral Home on Thursday, May 20, from 6-8 p.m., funeral service will be Friday, May 21 at 11am. Officiating will be Pastor Nicholas Worden and Pastor Bill Middleton of Grace Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
