Ruth “Irene” Crider Haycox was born to the late John and Selma Crider on October 1, 1935, in Square Deal, Montana. She entered her eternal rest on November 13, 2021, and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. She married James Haycox on July 31, 1952. Jim passed in February 2017, just shy of their 65th wedding anniversary.
Jim and Irene have 4 children: Jamie (Debbie) of Springfield, Terry (Allyson) and Debra (David) Edwards, both of Marion, and Steven (Teresa) of Edison. Irene adored her 14 grandchildren and had a large influence in their lives. From these 14 grandchildren came 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Irene is also survived by sisters Betty, Annette, and Jeanette. Sister Joan is deceased.
Family was one of the most important parts of Irene’s life. She was dedicated and devoted to them. Irene left high school to marry Jim, but later in life earned her GED. She worked as a waitress in various restaurants in Marion before retiring to care for her grandchildren. She had such fond memories from these days. She was a true example of grace, love, and kindness. Her legacy of love and devotion to family lives on in her children and her grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by the Boyd Funeral Home. Calling will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home with a service at 1 pm. Pastor David Rush will officiate. Internment at the Marion Cemetery will take place at a future date.
