Scotty Carlon Culver aka Big Scott, Chase, age 61 entered the gates of Heaven to live eternally with Jesus, unexpectedly on November 27.
Scotty leaves behind the love of his life and partner of 23 years, Ginger Coons and a Step-son Justin, both of Marion. He is preceded in death by his father Vincent C. Culver. Sisters Vinette and Margurete and step-sister Debbie. His laughter and joy filled heart will be missed by his Mother Mary Jane Stapleton and His more than a Step Father, Alonzo Stapleton of Marion, Ohio. Step-mother Sandra Culver of Georgia. Three brothers, Rodney (Brenda) Culver of Prospect, Ohio, Vinton Culver of Georgia and Kenny Saunders of Marion, Ohio. Two sisters Michelle (Randy) Myers, and Christina (Alan) Hankins, both from Delaware, Ohio. Step sisters Kathy (Randy) Jordan, Peggy (Bill) Boyd, both of Marion, Ohio. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many people whose lives he touched in a beautiful way. Scotty graduated from the Ohio State School For The Blind in 1979. Being blind never held Scotty back from living life to the fullest.. He was a very independent man. Scotty was a rest area caretaker in Marion, for 30 plus years. He could tell you what was wrong with a vehicle just by listening to it. He loved camping and fishing, talking on the phone. You could always count on getting his call on your birthday or anniversary. In his younger days you would often find him on his CB radio talking for hours or running around with his friends. He found great joy in helping others his entire life. He touched many lives with his positive attitude, infectious laughter, and silly gestures. Praise God! He once was blind but now he see's!
The family will be having the burial take place Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 12:15pm at the Marion Cemetery. The Boyd-Born Funeral Home is honored to assist the family of Mr. Culver in their time of need.
