Shawn P. Koons

Shawn P. Koons, age 43 of Marion, passed away suddenly on September 9, 2022. He was born in Columbus, OH on December 29, 1978, and married to his wife Kristin (Hill) on August 22, 2022.

Shawn worked for 2K General Company for nearly five years. His passion was pool, family and friends. Shawn touched and changed many lives. He would be the first to tell you what you needed to hear even though you didn't want to hear it. A father figure to everyone. He was an amazing husband, friend, father, and mentor. He passed on his knowledge to the youth in his family with the hope that they would do better than he did. He would always help others when they needed it.

He is survived by his wife Kristin Koons; his son Jesse Strohl; his daughter Cynthia Koons; sisters Mary Graham & Kim Koons; his adopted sisters Patty Smith and Erica Carr; his Uncles Mark & Chris Studer; and his adopted family he made over the years.

Family and friends may gather to honor Shawn’s memory on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 2:30 pm at Marion Cemetery.
