Shawn Patrick Werley

Shawn Patrick Werley, age 46 of Marion, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Marion General Hospital, surrounded by his wife, daughter, and son, who held his hands and told him they loved him as he passed. On May 6, 1975, he was born in Marion to Sue (Shultz) Loyer and the late Steve Werley, and on September 22, 1995, he married his loving wife, Tonya (Norton) Werley.

Shawn worked as a supervisor for Penske/Whirlpool for 18 years, Union Tank Car for 2 years, and most recently as a trucker for Schneider Intermodal. He enjoyed visiting his in-laws Brad and Linda in Florida, a place his family loved, and spending time with his family was very important to him. Above all else, he was an amazing husband, father, and Pawpaw, a title which he cherished. Taking care of his family was his life.

He is survived by his wife Tonya Werley; his daughter Samantha (Alex) (Werley) Wisniewski; his son Andrew Werley; his grandchildren Royce and Gia Wisniewski; his mother Sue Loyer; his sisters Amy Tanner and Genevieve Loyer; his mother- and father-in-law Brad and Linda Norton; his sister-in-law Sheila Norton; and 15 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Steve Werley, his stepfather Dave Loyer, his grandparents French and Margaret Shultz and Richard and Betty Werley, his uncle Steve Shultz, and his brothers-in-law Pete and Raymond Norton.

There will be a memorial service held at the Boyd Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021, from 4 to 6 p.m. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to assist with the services for Shawn Werley and his family.
