Shirley Mae (Noggle) Kensler, age 84, a lifelong resident of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Community Nursing home, after a short stay due to illness.
Shirley was born on November 1, 1936 to the late Thomas and Neva (Schuster) Noggle in LaRue, Ohio.
Shirley was a humble, private, and independent lady, who did her best to raise her family with love and kindness, the best she knew how.
In her senior years, she missed the family and friends who left before her. But she enjoyed the company of her cat, word search books and coloring. She loved flowers and visits from her sons.
She was just tired and made peace with God to let her come “home”.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: Jim Harper and sister: Phyllis Taylor.
Those who will cherish her memories include her two sons: Dale (Alicha) Long of Marion, Ohio and Jerry Long of Athens, Alabama; her two sisters: Linda Simmers of Marion, Ohio and Ruth Kittel of North Carolina; her two grandchildren: Brandee and Alan Long; and her three great grandchildren.
Although she will be missed, she will remain in our hearts.
Friends and family may celebrate her life on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 9:45am to 10:15am at the Boyd Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on May 5, 2021 starting at 11:00am at the LaRue Cemetery in LaRue, Ohio. The Boyd Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Kensler.
