Sophie Taylor

     Sophie Taylor, age 96, of Zanesville, OH. and a former Marion resident, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 6:10 AM from her residence. She was born on November 5, 1927 in Amsterdam, New York to the late Steve and Caroline (Stanislavas) Gegzno. Sophie married James “Ralph” Taylor and he preceded her in death on August 24, 1997 in Marion.

     The lifelong homemaker is survived by 2 sons, Bruce Prill of Zanesville, OH. & Gary Prill of Colorado Springs, CO., 4 daughters, Liz Starkey of Zanesville, OH., Gail Stokes of West Palm Beach, FL., Dale (Tim) Cramer of Zanesville, OH., & Leslee Shibley of New York, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, Julia (Tony) Merritt, Leah Young, & Caroline Young, and a son-in-law, Al Pauley of Zanesville. Sophie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ralph, a son, Steven Prill, a daughter, Sophia Pauley, and a twin sister, Agnes Young,

     Friends may call at the Boyd Funeral Home, Marion, OH. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 12 Noon until service time at 1:00 PM. Rev. Nathan McBeth will be officiating with burial to follow in the Marion Cemetery. Donations in Sophie's name may  be made to the Zanesville Humane Society.
