On June 5, 2025, Susan Annette Murphy was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, after a heroic fight due to an unexpected injury. Ms. Murphy was born in Norwich Connecticut to the late Geraldine Murphy Ramsey. Ms. Murphy, was an enigma who was fierce yet sweet, sensitive yet strong, vulnerable yet never weak, and her loyalty to her family and friends never wavered. She embraced strengths and bonds that she cultivated throughout her life and leaves behind a legacy filled with fond and happy memories for her family and friends. Ms. Murphy called several places home including Oakdale, Connecticut, New London, Connecticut, and Newport Rhode Island, before settling down in Marion, Ohio. She attended the Gods Ways Ministries International Church and the King Temple Apostolic Church. Susan was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunty, great aunt, and friend.
She was proceeded in death by her sister Gail Murphy. She leaves behind her siblings Janice Pickens of Marion, Ohio, Tina (Steven) Phillips of Jacksonville, FL, James (Anne) Ramsey Jr of Birmingham, AL, and Josephine (Onyx) Ramsey of Jacksonville FL/St Jose, CA. her beloved Aunts, Willie-Mae Daugherty (Daniel) and Barbara-Anne Murphy of Ridgeway SC, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews. Special mention Willard Pickens Sr.
Funeral Services will be hosted at Boyd’s Funeral Home, 122 West Columbia Street, Marion OH, 43302. June 10, 2025. Visitation 5:00pm to 6pm. Service 6pm – 7pm. Funeral Services will continue at with a private service will be hosted at Collins Funeral Home, 714 West Dekalb Street, Camden, SC 29020 with her internment at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Ridgeway SC.
